I'm going on record -- UCLA loses, and they lose big (by more than 14). This isn't some sort of reverse psychology bullshit, I just don't think UCLA has played anybody good yet. Washington may not be shitty, but they're pretty overrated; remember, they hadn't beaten anybody either (Michigan State sucks).
Utah, on the other hand, went into The Swamp and almost beat Florida. Yeah, Utah fucked the dog and should've won, basically blowing it . And Florida may not be the Gators of yesteryear, but that's still a tough place to play. And Utah kicked the absolute shit out of Oregon State, who is probably pretty decent.
While it's true that the rest of Utah's wins were against stiffs (boy, SDSU really sucks ass), their stiffs were still better than UCLA's stiffs. Okay, I guess South Alabama may be decent for FCS team, but SFW -- they're still a stiff.
Bottom line: defense. Utah has one, and I don't think UCLA really does. I think Washington was fool's gold, and I can't understand why nobody on the national level seems to think so.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong about this, but Utah has completely owned UCLA in recent years, and Chip has yet to beat those fuckers. If I'm wrong I'll eat crow, but I don't see a W for UCLA today. The good news is that this will probably be one of the final nails in Chip's coffin, because there is no way UCLA goes up to Eugene in two weeks and gets a W either. UCLA may still end up 8-4, but with this schedule that is a fail. Chip and his transfer portal way of roster management needs to go.
That’s an extremely bold prediction. Utah isn’t good enough to beat UCLA by more than 14 - dream team or not. It’ll be a close one.
