If JuJu doesn't come, Riley will snag the best Freshman this fall who doesn't win a starting job or doesn't think he has a great team in front of him. or whose coach didn't like a shirt or hat they were wearing one day.

Unlike years past, this isnt a case where you miss out on a QB and have to wait a whole recruiting year. In this case, USC will miss out, and STILL will have a guy enter in fall of 2025. Only difference is he will either be a soph or a RS frosh instead of straight out of HS. Considering JuJu's rep probably cost about the same amount either way.

This…. Only thing that could have keep elite QBs away from USC would’ve been another year or two of Helton. Now you have CLR, so it’s never gonna happen. You can include WRs as well.

Focus on the trenches!

For USC that doesn't have unlimited NIL, this sounds like the smarter way to go. True freshmen almost never contribute in year one but a five star QB is still going to be commanding a hefty fee for just sitting on the bench so why not get a guy who has at least gone through practices and competed and shown something at the college level? Spend the money on DL and then OL.

He definitely makes some bad throws, however, he brings a lot to the table at QB.

Kansas State will play both Will Howard and Avery Johnson at quarterback moving forward, with coach Chris Klieman unsure of the playing time for both.

Kansas State listed both Howard and Johnson as a starter against the Horned Frogs (4-3, 2-2), but Klieman said there will be no decision on the amount of playing time each will receive until the game plan is finalized later in the week.

"If you thought it would be a 60-40, 50-50 or a 90-10 split, we have no idea," Klieman said. "We're going to go through the game plan and see who, where and what gives us the best opportunity."

Howard wasn't beaten out in the traditional sense but you know what they say, if you have two starting QB's you really don't have any and if the coach is seeing a 3 year starter and a true frosh the same it's clear where that competition is headed.

Does Will Howard have an NFL future? He's in the vein of the good K-State QB's from the past--good runner, decent enough arm but done after he graduates.
