Four teams was a better format. Most of the 1st round games are a waste of time.

Twelve teams is too much. Some of these teams are decent at best.

Sixteen is too many. First, it's not necessary, and second, it would make the best teams play four extra games. I'm not ready for an 18-game season.
Twelve is still too many.
Eight is good. Better than four. Now that there are only four real conferences, the four champs are in and there are four at-large bids available to any of the following (1) CCG runner-ups from the power conferences, (2) champions from non-power conferences, and (3) independents (translation: Notre Dame). If you're in a power conference and didn't make it to your CCG, you can't qualify for an at-large slot. If you're from another conference and didn't win your CCG, you can't qualify. Don't like it? Drop down to Division 1-A.
I think 8 or 16 without a week off would be best.
BTW I think they need to rework it so that conference champions are automatically included in the playoffs but not necessarily seeded 1-4. That makes no sense.
I don't think 12 is enough. I think it should be 16.
twelve is ok, tho I don't care for the first round byes, but off weeks this time of year can wither be weal or woe, so we'll see how it plays out. Four was too few given how the SEC had gamed the system.
twelve is just right. It gives the top four conference championship a bye. Glad to see Boise State and SMU in.
Glad to see Alabama out. They okayed their way out losing to mediocre Vandy and Oklahoma.
8 is good. 4 isn’t enough.
rumor is they will go to 16 teams with no byes. It's all about the money.
Should have gone with 4 and kept the traditional new year's bowl game. Winners advance. sc
