Watched some of film on Ty Thompson in HS and he looked talented and sure had the physical characteristics of a QB at 6'4" 220. Showed decent arm strength and mobility as well but again this was highlite tapes. One thing for sure he stayed loyal and patient. So what caused Orgon to get another QB that will have been in college football forever after justfinishing with another QB who seemed to have stayed in school forever? Was his talent overstated and overated? Was it the change in coaches? Was it the change in schemes? Did the kid just not progress as anticipated? Was the college game to complex or fast for him? Does Oregon have a coach known to develop QB's?

Maybe he wasn't really a 5-star guy. Looks like Dinty Moore wasn't -- although I wouldn't be too surprised if he does well at another program with a coach who doesn't have his head up his ass and actually recruits OL.
But maybe Thompson just isn't that good.
He just seemed like a deer in the headlights whenever he got in.
Plus you've had different OCs work with him and it just seems he's stuck in mud. If he were lighting it up practice, staff wouldn't even be bringing in Gabriel .
