UCLA football is more popular than USC football among TV viewers? Uh...highly suspect. Not sure where that "research" was conducted, but that doesn't make a lot of sense.
That said, those of you who are using team gear as proof of anything need to pull your heads out of your butts.
As social science goes, it's not a bad operational definition. Actually doing something (buying & wearing gear) has more external validity than answering a survey.
Sounds like bullshit to me. I don't know what wearing a t-shirt has to do with watching TV, and how anyone could possibly find a correlation. But I suppose some academic could spend five years conducting a study and say it's proof, and then get paid big bucks for it.
I rarely see anyone wearing UCLA football gear anymore. it has been that way since the 27-0 Carroll led victory way back when. The peak in ucla popularity my opinion was during the 8 game streak but has declined since.
Yea, that's GOT to be it. Nice try, though. BTW, any kind of store only carries what they believe will sell. You could always try Salvation Army if you get desperate.
It's like the polls on Roe, Casey, and Dodd. Respondents overwhelmingly support Roe, and Casey, without knowing what they are. Support for 3rd term abortions is lower than support for Dodd. Yet, Dodd is extremist, and those supporting Dodd are "Fringe". If it's not what I want, then it's extremist and fringe.

UCLA has neither the attendance nor the TV ratings to support this grandiose and idiotic claim.,
The information was collected from roughly 103 million people who watch football on TV or attend games. I’m not necessarily agreeing with any of this but thought it was interesting. Do you really question 1 thru 9 ?
1-9, no. Roe/Casey is overwhelmingly supported until they find out what it means. It's all about how you ask the question. Hell, read Bruinzone, they've given up on going to/watching ucla FB games.
ucla football more popular than USC football? I thought Baghdad Bob was dead! Just look at bruin FB attendance the past few years; all those empty seats occupied by loyal fans!
They were talking about TV viewers, which is a whole different thing, especially when taking a national audience into account. But it's still a stretch, particularly when one considers how few primetime games UCLA has been involved with in recent years. No f'ing way are East Coast viewers gonna watch a 10:30pm kickoff, even if they do have Pac 12 Network.
Maybe not all that shocking. LA fans are a bunch of front runners, and I'm not sure who picks up more band wagon fans than the Trojans when hot. But when we are bad (read mediocre at best), the "fans" scatter and attendance is bouyed by all the season ticket holders waiting for the next run.

🤣 LMFAO!!!!
In the 8+ years I’ve lived in Texas, I havent seen a single UCLA anything. Shirt, sticker, hat….nothing.
But I’ve seen plenty of Southern Cal stuff
Did it account for all the fans that switched mid-game?

Is this like that USA Today list of top Universities that weighed Alumni Donations for some ungodly high amount, tainting the results?
The source is truly suspect. The firm who did the survey has about 4 employees
