LOL! Not sure that Chad is an Oregon "legend". I'd reserve that designation for the likes of Mariota, Van Brocklin, Herbert, Fouts, Mel Renfro, Ngata, Bobby Moore (Ahmad Rashad), Dave Wilcox, the Sewell Bros., etc...
The kid graduated in four years starting every game since 2018. With more education and experience he sees the value of ditching UCLA and Kelley. Sometimes wisdom and age go together.
Check his stats. He was getting less throws over the last 2 years because (1) he was rarely open and (2) he had more drops than any UCLA receiver over the last 4 years. Jake Bobo (transfer portal from Duke who ran a similar passing offense) caught more passes last year (74) than Cota caught in 4 years at UCLA. UCLA knew he (Cota) was going to leave and they went looking for a guy who could fill his spot.
Saw that this morning along with Jaylan Shaw a cornerback with lots of experience..

2020
Starter at cornerback in all 7 games ... tied for the team lead with two interceptions (Arizona State and Stanford) ... returned the interception against Stanford for a touchdown (39 yards) ... 8th on the team in tackles (24) ... had a season-best 7 tackles versus Stanford.
2019
Saw action in all 12 games with four starts (Cincinnati, San Diego State, Washington State, USC) ... Credited with a season-high five tackles against San Diego State ... Had multiple tackles in eight games ... Posted his first career interception at Cincinnati and returned it 66 yards.
2018
Saw action in all 12 games as a reserve in the defensive secondary (nickel back) and as a member of the special teams units ... Credited with a season-high two tackles each in games versus Cal and Arizona ... Had two pass breakups against Stanford ... Honorable mention Academic All-Pac-12 team selection.
Son of Oregon Duck legend Chad Cota.....maybe he's going back to Eugene. Better for him if he completes his degree at UCLA (vs. Oregon).
That Cota guy sucked. He dropped more passes thrown to him than he caught.
Why? They have a better chance of playing in the NFL if they stay put. Are ALL THESE KIDS CRAZY or is the under the table money that good?
Also entering the portal was ucla starting CB Jay Shaw . Both Shaw and Cota will be seniors next season with 1 year of eligibility Remaining.
