Still not quite sure why though....?
Sure a path to the CFP is much more likely for our quacks in what remains of the butter-soft pac-8/10/X. But it's fairly assured we are headed towards super conferences in college football. Why delay the inevitable? Money is not a huge concern for Oregon.
It's all about the networks now, and they don't want to miss out on Oregon and, to an extent, Washington.
Interesting thought to include the B1G championship game at the Rose Bowl.
BTW not really new news, although the first time the B1G could officially talk about it and not look like they are meddling. And when the mainstream college football media begins to report this stuff, it takes it out of the rumor category.
FSU willing to pay out $300M to exit the ACC and join the Big 10 is what I've seen...Cleson wants out as well but not sure they are willing to payout $300M
This is the only B1G add that makes sense
each add needs natural rivals that are inconference
rivals = media $$$$
UO v WA
furd v Cal
furd v SC is additional value
Cal v UCLA is additional value
UO v SC is additional value
etc.
B1G currently allows three protected rivals
USC: UCLA, furd, and ?
UCLA: SC, Cal, and ?
Keeping the Weekender is a possibility
Next natural add would be domers and ???
or are domers now locked out of any future B1G deal?
20 team conference works
more is unweildly with a slate of nine inconference game
No surprise here if its furd, cal, WA, and ....... the domers
So many rumors out there right now. Here's one, UW mod saying USC and ucla want Ore and Wash to join the B1G. I personally saw the post yesterday, so that pasty is fact.
I'm gonna let it all unfold itself. I'm m hearing sensible info from both sides of the argument, so I have no clue. We can continue posting new rumors until something is in writing, but like I said, 🥱
