So true - true test is yet to come. October 14th is the first day of reckoning in the p12. That's when we'll know someting about UW, UO, USC.
My quacks were 9th in scoring offense and T-74th in scoring defense in 2022.
In 2023 after 4 games ducks are 2nd and 17th respectively.
Don't mean squat until our teams get into the meat of our schedule, though. All the high-scoring offenses in the pac are going to demolish any scoring D numbers we have so far, most likely.
So usc is scoring 55 a game versus 42. And last year they had about 4-5 pick 6 in their first 4 games. 3 in the first. Then again this year branch has taken two coast to coast.
But surprisingly they're giving up 2 more a game.
Thisnall means nothing because.
1 they have only really even played in the second half kne game this year.
2 last year rice Fresno stanford and oregon state were far better teams than the 4 usc has played this year.
This year stanford doesn't match 2022. Both sucked. Osu is way better than Asu. Fresno is loads better than Nevada. And rice and San Jose might be a wash.
I'm not convinced the usc o is better than last year yet. Except I realize it progressed last year and likey will do so again this year. When Caleb commits to moving the chains on 3rd down and not going for 50.
I'm not as sure about the d. They lol better. Look deeper. But man they've sure shown an ability to give up points. 56 to asu and San Jose? Yikes
Many years ago I was at LAX waiting for a redeye flight. I took a seat at a table in a beer bar next to three Marines. I didn't joint in their conversation but I listened with interest.
They had just finished training at Pendleton and were on their way to Parris Island. One of the three was from South Carolina so he knew the territory. He told the other two he was going to take them to his favorite place, where "For 20 bucks you can get laid, drunk, and a steak."

Scoring Offenses so far in Pac plus ND:
1 - USC
2 - Oregon
3 - Washington
5 - WSU
18- Notre Dame
19- OSU
Wonder what the numbers are. What usc averages on o through four games last year v this. And same on d
45th vs the level of talent USC has been facing is not good. That rating will be plummeting a month from now.
well then
everyone calling for just an average defense should be happy, no?
