First Line is Williams, Caleb
Next: Dart, Jaxson (first time ever playing in a cold weather state)
Then Duck, Chuck N.
Finally Maguire, Toby
I did not at all expect Dart to lead Williams in rushing yards and attempts. Interestingly they run him more in the middle of the field and Williams runs more at the goal line. The stats for all of them look a lot like they did at USC. They are who they are. Daniels got to be a soph 3 times. At USC, at Georgia 2020 and then Georgia 2021. Given he got benched this year, he actually COULD play year 6 at a 4th school. Incredible. Williams has way more attempts but the % isn't that much better. But more attempts AND more YPC Way more. So USC goes downfield more or their WR have way more RAC yards.
Dit not list their fumbles. I imagine most had a few or a couple. Caleb had none.
Not really surprised to see Slovis and Daniels have the negative rushing yards that they do. But over a year, Williams has 4,060 total yards. Dart ,3160. So even those two are 900 apart. Slovis at 2,323 And Chuck is at 2,050. Means Slovis and Chuck had almost HALF the yardage on the year Caleb did. And these are starting D1 QB's with decent numbers. 58-62% completion.
Caleb had 44 TD, Dart 18, Chuck 14 and Slovis 10 Bleh. Williams converts. Big problem USC had with those previous guys was they ran up and down the field and couldn't put it in the end zone. Still can't. Williams smells the end line and gets there. Caleb Williams has more TD's that his 3 predecessors at USC COMBINED. That is off the charts. Stop the lights.
And while we don't know fumbles, we know you can't have less than 0. And we know that INT is 3 against 8 9 and 9. So with more attempts, more yards, more TD he has 1/3 the INT. And no fumbles.
My gosh if you didn't know what a Heisman winning season looked like, compare it to his predecessors, who are all older and still playing at the D1 level. In major conferences.
Qb rating for Williams also higher
another comparison is Caleb vs Carson and Leinart. Caleb's numbers are better. sc
At Ole Miss Kiffin has a lot of designed QB runs. He's done it with both QB's there, Dart and Corral. Little guy Corral ran for like 200 yards himself in one SEC game last season. It's effective but maybe not wise, he might get them killed.
