Proof is Stanford literally installing the slow mesh offense this past summer only to beat SC.
I wonder why they didn't install the 1985 Bears 46 Defense as well?
The slow mesh is used predominately by Pop Warner and high school teams to force more talented teams into a read and react mode on defense and take them out of gap control, man to man coverage and other concepts that rely on skill and speed.
The only team in college or NFL that uses the slow mesh is Wake Forest.
Imagine the state of football program that is preparing for just one big game all year, every year.
You know: with longer grass, muddy redzones, different unis, different schemes, etc.
Pretty sure the Farm left the sprinklers on all night as well, as the turf was coming up in slabs.
I wonder how they will handle the rest of the season?
Can't wait to see 'furd run the Single Wing in the Coliseum next year with a field a lot more like a billiard table than a swamp.
Good post! Keep on posting. Right SC??
Thanks
Thats a really solid post. Flying wedge and single wing are illegal thanks to Teddy Roosevelt. https://rugbydome.com/flying-wedge-in-american-football/
You guys only have to play Stanford one more time, maybe for eternity.
classless move by stanford re: the condition of their field.
Re: the offense, it's up to USC to attack that nonsense. The trap is falling into read and react in the first place. USC needed to do more blitzing, esp when they are leaving their corners on islands. The longer the routes take, the more the advantage goes to the offense. Frankly, blitz schemes should have been part of the game plan going in.
