Recruiting Class of 2018 Solomon Tuliapupu portals out of USC and will be looking to play his 8th college football season. 8th. He leaves with almost as many degrees as tackles. Business degree, Masters in Project Management. Last year he was in, don’t laugh, the Gerentology Graduate Certificate Program. Kind of a funny irony.
I notice a preponderance of our one and dones are put into the Gerentology dept. Solo came in from Mater Dei with Amon and Daniels part of the 4th ranked class. Gaoteote and Hufanga were in that class. Dedich too.
The late entry tells me he was processed or couldn’t participate in practices.Poor guy was at risk to tear a ligament every time he took a step. On the field or not.
Best wishes to him and I’m glad he took advantage of a world class education opportunity.
Isn't this the guy who was ready to sign with UW but at the last minute, Johnny Nansen came in and guaranteed his family would get American citizenship if he signed with USC?
Never mind... that was Marlon something
This is the consequence of bringing in transfers above guys you recruited. People are willing to be third and fourth string if they work their way up. But when you bring in transfers and place them ahead of them. And do so repeatedly. You get this. Not surprising.
I think all of the third fourth and fifth string guys you see transferring out of places are not doing so for money. I think they see their careers spiraling the drain and they’re trying to go anywhere to get playing time to jumpstart either the NIL income stream or their fading hopes of a pro career.
I think the transfers we see from starters or high-level backups maybe who are young? Or financially driven and opportunistic. I think guys like the Solomon dude who are leaving are no loss and they are easily replaced. I think the problem occurs when you recruit a four star freshman and he does not have the patience to work through a year or two of being second or third string and he bails after a year. Those are the really disappointing ones that you’ve got to figure out a way to avoid.and are becoming rampant
Didn't Kevin go to High School with that guy?
