USC Depth Chart for tomorrow

Not sure how much this chart means as we saw last week with Branch andQuinones being surprise starters

Makai Lemon took Raleek Brown's place as the No. 4 WR behind Mario, Tahj and Zachariah. And Michael Jackson III, who was not on the depth chart last week, takes Lemon's spot behind Dorian Singer. It'll be interesting to see if Makai actually lines up in the slot.

Why is Solomon Byrd starting? Solomon Byrd can't give up the corner like he did multiple times vs. SJSU. Keeping lane/pocket integrity is key. He got caught multiple times trying to "sneak inside" and "giving up the corner" thereby giving up several big gainers to the QB.

Look at it this way ....Grinch could be working himself out of a job if he doesn't get that the game is not that complicated if you play guys in spots that is their natural positions where they can optimize their talent. Personally I still don't get Jaylin Smith and Max Williams starting as well....put them in a 4-3 and Gentry at LBer and Bear and Barr upfront..and I'd bet the D looks better than what was put on the field last week..

From what I saw, all the outside line and linebackers were giving up the corners. Seems like they were all running up the same inside gap - which is part of Grinch's philosphy for pressure up the middle and relying upon the d-backs to cover it. Same shit as last year.
