And what's right with Oregon's NIL program.
And, no, it's not just all about the size of the bags "handed out". Texas, TAMU, Tennessee and likely many other SEC (and some B1G) teams too all dwarf anything Oregon will do in that regard. I love how some of the simpletons of this board like to theorize Oregon's recruiting success as only being attributed to an easier-to-accept situation of Uncle Phil paying more than USC's donors.
Sounds to me like too much infighting amongst USC donors and a poor underlying NIL structure is what is hurting you Trojans right now as much as anything else. If you won't listen to us quacks, at least listen to one of your own who appears to know what he's talking about (unlike some of you yahoos here....lol).
A history of outstanding college football success will only take you so far; if college football the past 5 years has proven anything, you HAVE to be forward thinking or become a has-been....
I think a lot of top recruits choose Nike because of the location. And that's no shit.
They can be a rock star at Nike, while they're just another swinging dick in L.A. or any other major city -- particularly if they're from that major city.
I doubt any of these fuckers hike or hunt or fish, but that's not the point. The point is they need a different environment, one they can handle. And they can handle Nike because they'll have a lot of friends in their corner. And they won't have to really do shit except ball.
Good stuff LA. A fellow hardcore quack friend of mine messaged me the other day saying how he never imagined we’d be in a world where Oregon sits near the head of the table picking and choosing while SC fans lose their minds and cry fowl!
Oh what a reversal of fortunes.
I know there are a few rationale SC fans that know that culture really does matter and it’s not just about the NIL $ and that Lanning is actually a really good young coach that should only get better every year with more and more experience.
Am I wrong??? Are there no rationale $C fans ?
All those stockpiled recruits will run for the back door, just as quick as they ran through the front door. Once they realize the unfulfilled promises. It's nothing but a big money grab right now, and it will not sustain itself. Mark my word, the NIL will come crashing down, and those institutions with huge risky investments will fall by the wayside.
With shitty HC leadership, this is to be exoected.
Oh, of course, it’s not all about the money. Kids are choosing UOregon because of the great location and superior academics. And who TF is upperwestsidetrojan? You haven’t mention why he knows more than anyone else. Maybe it just fits your narrative.
Not all Trojan fans are bitching about Oregon’s NIL program. I was clear in saying Ore is just taking advantage of the fact the ncaa hasn’t regulated NIL. Not their fault. And Phil can spend as much of his money as he likes,,, it’s a free country….. oh that’s right it’s not about the money 🤣
Ehh, not sure why SC fans get their panties in a bunch over the Ducks NIL. Even with NIL, Ducks couldn’t beat all those 3*s at UW.
Lanning hasn’t proven anything . He got a huge raise for winning what? No PAC titles. Oh, he did beat that FCS team in the Fiesta Bowl.
How about getting to the playoffs. Winning a Natty. Then you get a raise. Until then, all you SC honks, calm down. Let Phil spend $20 mil/ yr.
P. S. I will say Ducks look good on paper. But we know what that has gotten Lanning in the past.
no surprise usc is their own worst enemy. just look at their school prezes, ads and hcs the last 45 years. any success was luck, not skill.
that said, you can't discount the impact nike has had here, beyond the simple money bags. nike has the most advanced and cutting edge marketing campaigns in sports back to the MJ and Bo days. no wonder they have a huge advantage here. if this came down to futuristic, sci fi space movies, then usc would own you. thems the breaks.
