Always take the size when 2 players are equal in talent/skill,,, absolutely.
Had several conversations about this very topic.... I honestly don't know who can play on our defense. I too was excited to see Cobb play last season. I actually ended up watching some of the worst LBer play I have ever seen. I can't believe he just lost all his ability (physically and mentally) to play LBer. Saw it with several players on our defense. You mention Bullock, who I believe is another prime example. Tex A&M trans, Zona trans etc etc etc etc. And what about the true frosh LBer from Louisiana?
I can not wait to watch this defense next season. I'll need to tape the LSU game because I will definitely be in attendance. I'll still have a general idea of what we have after that game.
The NFL still thinks Bullock can play and he is projected to go mid of the second round.
The entire defense was confused on what to do all the time.
They were always looking at their wrist bands and they pointing fingers at each other.
I am sure the "speed" defense works on paper. Players blamed themselves for being out of position, bad angles, attacking the same gap, blown coverage after blown coverage. It's hard to believe that CLR couldn't see it was a coaching problem.
I heard several NFL scouts are projecting Bullock as a "corner only." They don't think he can be an NFL safety. Most NFL defenses require that position to come up and play in the box (often) , which requires some physicality and competent tackling ability.... Bullock needs to stay another year imho. I'm not sure he'll go in the 2nd round... nope
what? that silly dance from 30 years ago?
BTW....does Riley let him wear 55?
Love it.
Notice the haters are a bit more quiet these days?
Three solid Defensive hires in a week. Multiple NCs between them at the FCS level. Recruiting on D is picking up.
