Looking forward to it. Good talk with a close friend and former USC linebacker. Looks like we will go big in the trenches and beef up the middle of the linebacking corps. He likes Sam Green at mlb. He's quick, big and hits hard as a run stuffer. The new coaches prefer big bodies on the front line in a traditional 4-3 alignment, backed with a strong and tough mlb. Sam could be the guy. Hopefully, he becomes good enough to wear #55. Look out for Elijah Hughes in the defensive end rotation. He's quick, strong and putting on more weight to slide over to DT at times. The staff also wants to bulk up Anthony Lucas at the DE spot. It will be a make or break year for him.

Have heard from some people that UCLA will make a run at Lynn for HC when Chip Leaves on Friday. If it came from one of them I would think they were full of shit, but have heard from two that don't know each other, so they are getting it from somewhere up the chain. I think that would be one of the biggest bone-head moves of all time, but have heard they are going to try to make it happen. Stay tuned.
Sam green is Shrinking. Unlime most guys who come to college and add an inch or 20lb.
Sam has gone from 6'2 265
To 6'1.5 255
To ESPN has him listed at usc as 6'1 235
I realize a lot of these pr people just make up numbers. But this one is comical.
Look for Sam green at this rate to be starting at cornerback in two years
About time USC started evaluating the talent they have lined up for the Edge Position. Looked to me that USC was putting more talent there than anywhere on the defense...Peevy was another guy thought they should look at at LBer before they bulked him up....and Lucas should have been moved to the end spot and kept his weight at the 295 level he entered school with IMHO.....Shelby is another guy that they need to find a spot for...
I think that de. The freshman one everyone picked on. What was his name? Think he will break out.
That's interesting. If you can't recruit one or get one through the portal I guess.
Greene is a beast.
He did play linebacker in high school from what I can find. Think he was part of the go small on the D line failed experiment at SC. sc
All of that sounds good. Hughes impressed in the Holiday Bowl win. I would also expect Bear to have a big year. Pressure up front will help the secondary.
