USC hires OK OLB/DE Coach

SOURCE: OU's Jamar Cain is expected to join Lincoln Riley's staff at USC. Cain who has coached in the Pac-12 and has a lot of West Coast ties, is considered one of the country's top recruiters. Rivals and tohers highlight the 7th in national ranking for Ok defense and a high number of sacks for their DEs and LBs.

Before being hired in January 2020, Cain served as Arizona State’s defensive line coach in 2019, Fresno State’s defensive line coach from 2017-18 and North Dakota State's defensive ends coach from 2014-16.

@OldHickoryTrojan that's what I thought. they run more. that's about it. that's not a different offense. Harrell's players seem to run into coverage, not open grass. I know he said they are supposed to run to open grass, but they haven't. They run right into coverage.

it's the same offense only at Oklahoma they run more and have better players. . how has that worked out without the talent at SC or helped Oklahoma do anything but get prison raped in playoff games? sc

@San Clemente You missed a lot.....if you missed the emphasis on the running game and how explosive it is whe it set in a rhythm with the passing game....and yu are complely mistaken on judging talent whe USC had no coaching on some highly ranked players and Oklahoma had coaching but a lot of injured players...lastly the best College Coach in the game has said there is no defense in CFB anymore...the game is too wide open and explosive...if you can hold the opponent to three TDs you probably have a great defense...and if you vcan get turnovers you probably make life easy for the offense...

@crunch - funny how that works. Tee Martin - great recruiter. Donte - great recruiter. New guy - the next great recruiter. SC usually doesn't lack for recruiting. Even when the worst head coaches at SC produce 8 wins the kids will come. mho
