Notice we only have two LBers here.
Look how they both run to same gap where RB isnt. 🤦♂️
Then notice angle of AA safety of Bullock.
To me Cal runs to exactly the right gap. Was that luck or by design? After two seasons of massive gauge plays me thinks it was by O design. Run to where they aint approach.
This aint effort. Its execution. Thats on coaching/personnel.

The comments here are generally correct. As I recall Cal ran the same play at least twice, two resulted in long runs.
Instead of each backer responsible for assigned gaps, they be running up behind DT's where there is no gap. Been doing this for two years. I thought it was stupid linebacker play, but have realized it is Grinch's scheme. Makes no sense. Last year it was Goforth, Nomura and Lee. This year it's Cobb, Curtis, et al. They can't all be this stupid, can they? Why run up behind each other and leave gaps wide open? Play after play after play. Grinch is an idiot, but what does that make Riley?
On that play the DL Benton goes the wrong way inside and your Rush end Muhammad has no clue what to do if you watch him closely. They should have made the tackle.
Now you have a problem with a fast back in the second level and only the LB to come up and make the play. Which leads us to whiff number three , Curtis makes the wrong read and runs the wrong way. What is he thinking there? He's apparently watching his own DL and runs to that same spot.
