Not sure it's accurate or that USC has solved their problems yet with te demands they place on players in order for a player to get it or is that competitive t what some programs are putting out there but the dollars are better than I thought..

Nice pick up at OT
Good news on ND OT going down
$12 million is a starting point. I said 2-3 years ago I felt the formula to win was $30 million total. $10 million for the head coach. $10 million for the staff. $10 million for personnel. I would have been brilliant then. Able to get the top AC, a great HC and all the personnel we could want.
Now? Still good numbers for the coaches. But the players thanks to Oregon and OSU have gone way up. I think it takes $20 million now. Oregon is spending $20-25 million. Ohio State even with their stacked roster and great tradition is spending $15 million. Those two teams are serious.
Oregon has a far more talented and deep roster than USC. And yet they are spending like they are in catch up mode. USC IS IN CATCH UP MODE. And they are at $12 million. They need to be at $20 million.
A superstar top QB is going to command about 20% of that. $4 million. About what he will make in the NFL
I am happy to hear they are consolidating staff. Little too little for 2025 class and this means USC may not see positive results on the field IF they can hold this all together, until 2027. And I am not sure if Trojans have that much patience. Yet buying top transfers is uber expensive. Everything USC has done will cost them either in wins or money. and so far their decision has been to make decisions that cost them wins.
The standard is $20-$25 million. The good news is that if they get there, and it appears they will try, Oregon is fooling themselves if they think kids will go to Eugene over USC with other factors being equal. Facilities are no longer an edge. Media market way better at USC. Endorsements, chances to win national honors, history, tradition, educational opportunities. Weather. On and on it goes. USC needs to get big money behind their NIL and compete on the highest level and not go cheap.
Sounds like they have pretty much lost the 2025 class in this area and the benefits, if they can fix it, won't accrue until about two years from now.
