I must be the contrarian because I think the OL needs a lot of work. without Caleb being so mobile and staying 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage he would be getting killed back there. Let me add that anyone who looks at the competition so far should have seen Caleb sitting in the pocket all day long without anyone getting near him and that has not been the case. Looks to me too many missed assignments and some lack of cohesiveness. We'll see if these guys are good enogh to handle better teams that have defenses that can really take it to you, So far I am not confident that is the case without a huge jump in performance.
The O line grades out pretty well in PFF weekly grades. Blocking for a guy like Caleb has to be a blessing and a curse. In the past I have heard Oline players say uts hard to block for a guy that runs around like Caleb. In the run game they are opening some pretty big holes. But you're right, let's see how they do in South Bend in their first real test.
They got these guys to fill in gaps and augment what helton left.
curious about is if any of these young new guys have potential and can come along. You can't recruit a top quality ol every year. Especially when most of them came to block for the heisman. Winner.
This could be a major step back next year. My hope is that the ol coach. Highly regarded. Is able to develop guys by next year. By which time he will have had 3 springs in the weight room and 3 spring practices and summers to do so with some. And obviously less w the newer recruits.
I wish chip kelly watched and paid attention instead of biting his toenails in his underwear or whatever else he does on his free time. Dante moore has a good deep ball, and UCLA's OL can't block shit, so cover him in oil, have him way back, and move the pocket like Caleb does.
At the very least, the Bruins should have called a few max protections and tried to hit Sturdivant deep. I don't care if the safety is back, force him to make some plays. I wish I could have contacted Chip during the game or at least at halftime.

not possible
I was told Riley can't recruit in the trenches and that he just doesn't care
CW lines up like 10 yards off the ball, the DL has to take an uber to get to him.
