Well, looks like Java’s instinct was right. Lyons is taking official trips to Oregon and BYU. And unofficial visits to Michigan and Ohio State. Lyons can still be called a USC lean but it seems like definitely not a lock as he explores other options. Oregon and BYU are definitely a threat to USC. BYU is not just window dressing but instead is a legitimate option. The problem , imo, for USC is he has visited many times and still hasn’t pulled the trigger. Looking to commit in July.
Oregon QB commit Jonas Williams is serious about looking for other options and USC is a strong contender. LSU and Ole Miss also in contention but USC is in a good spot. Ducks giving a lot of attention to Ga commit QB and Tenn native Jared Curtis, also a top QB. Ducks seem to acknowledge Williams might flip.
On a positive note, USC commit LB Griffin looks solid to USC.
Told ya. Lincoln Riley's MO is to spread classes out. When you see him going for two guys in a row that are that high quality something is up. And don't be surprised if wherever Lyons goes, Walker goes too. He's not getting a lot of PT.
What SHOULD happen is Lyons should commit and that would be Longstreet 2025 Lyons 2027. Problem is those Mormons go on their Missions and get all jacked up on Mormonism, come back a hero and marry some little blondie and go to BYU where they graduate at 25.
What I expected was Lyons 27 Longstreet 25 and USC would sign some underrated 3 star guy, maybe even a 4 star for 2026. Some guy who would come, sit a couple years. Realize he wouldn't play and by then Longstreet would be in his last year, Lyons the heir apparent and USC would be on to recruiting the next guy. Basically Peter Parker was that guy. Between JT Daniels and Jaxon Dart. Looking for same thing here
