Despite how great USC is doing I find it hard to believe we're not in the top 10 recruiting. I know there's plenty of time but not much activity since the avalanche of commits in June. Not sure if we even have a consensus 5 star from recruiting sites committed.
It was nice to see the QB Lewis commit but he's not expected to enroll until 2025.
I hope to see more 2024 commits as USC continues to impress over the next few months. I hope we pick up the Mater Dei OL and DL studs. I guess we could always bring in a few players from the transfer portal.
USC currently sits at #18 in the rankings. 15 commits, 11 Four stars. I don't think we have gotten a commitment since July. No commitments coming in the near future. And we have taken more than a few L's in the last 60 days. Only 4 of our 15 commits are from California . Only 1 from Bosco and none from Mater Dei. Many think it's NIL issue but I'm not so sure. I think we need better recruiters on the staff. The LB Coach got Curtis but not much else so far. The Dline coach isn't getting 5⭐️, and only has one interior lineman this year. Bear was a LR recruit. I like the Oline class from last year and I like 2 of the three Oline recruits this year. Whiffed on top two QB recruits.
This staff is very good at filling holes with Portal guys but they need to be better at recruiting California. Most people say recruiting is about relationships so be better at building those relationships. Hype is being built around the 2025 class. We are in on quite a few Mater Dei recruits, but we heard that last year about the 2024 class and it fizzled.
