It was actually a closer than the score indicated. Beavs made huge mistakes in the game. Untimely penalties and huge turnovers (I counted 10-14 pts taken off the board). Credit USU, but poor play really helped them.… On a side note, ASU and ucla might want to take a closer look at Utah St head coach Blake Anderson.
Utah St had a couple miscues that cost them points as well...but what I saw was a team that wasn't pushed around and even with a third string QB that had never taken a snap in a game actually get the job done...no telling what their starter would have done...especially considering he was much more mobile thne the kid that replaced him ...
@Brad Stevens Didn't Chip just sign an extension? And Herm is doing a good job but I don't know what will happen with his cheating issue. In a different response, Colorado might be a better fit for Anderson as just don't see Dorrell being an answer. But is CU committed to getting better?
@mandb So sorry. It may be difficult for a Dawg to understand this, but Oregon prefers their coaches to come from and have a foundation in the SEC, not the Mountain West Conference..... 🤣😜😎
@LA Duck Yes, if your 1st and only criteria for a head coach is any assistant from only the SEC, and then actually believe any assistant coach from the SEC will have more success than a proven head coach from another conference, you have made my point perfectly. Are you saying Florida, an SEC school, made a poor decision in hiring their head coach in 2005? I know you were never 'sold' but I have no complaints about UW's hire after USC took Sark off our hands either.
But if your SEC coach does have success, you will still believe UO/Eugene is a destination for any coach. Until it isn't.
@mandb Ummm....where did I ever say it was my first and only criteria? Just like a dawg fan to make up things and call them "fact". We simply prefer our coaches these days to have a foundation in big-boy football. The only Power 5 experience DeBoner has is one season with Indiana.....LOL.....okay. If you like mining the minor leagues for coaches, that's Washington's problem, not anyone else's.
BTW the last two p12 head coaches with SEC experience haven't been too shabby: Mario Cristobal at Oregon and Mel Tucker at Colorado/Michigan State.
Losing to Boise St...yeah, it happens. Losing to BYU? Sure, BYU is good.
But how in the hell did USU get so clobbered by Wyoming? Couldn't figure that one out. Oh, well, I guess everyone gets a mulligan.
Utah state beat the crap out of San Diego state to win conference.
and Aztecs are a good team

Utah State was well-coached and they had to start their 3rd team QB!
