Formerly known as the University of Oregon since current coach Lan Danning has appeared to unilaterally shut down that name for the quacks, at least for the short term, if not the long term.

Sounds like class could start as early as Sunday for the Beavs and at least by next year, if not this year, for the Dawgs.

Lots of scuttlebutt about Jonathan Smith being Michigan State's #1 choice right now. That kind of distraction can't be good for a program hoping to spoil Oregon's fortunes a second time in two years in the looming Civil War. And if Chip gets fired, sounds like Jonathan is the #1 choice there as well.

And if anyone heard DeBoner's mealy-mouth non-answer to the question about remaining at Washington for the long-haul, you'll easilly come to the conclusion he is keeping his options open and is not long for that program. The historic progression of his career does a poor job of masking his desire to climb the heights of the college football coaching ladder.

Hearing if the Michigan job opens or if TAMU wants him bad enough, there could be a change brewing. Or next year if things don't improve at USC and/or Coach Riley moves on to the NFL, you just know AD Jen Cohen would love to be working with DeBoner again. (That might just be the ticket you need, USC fans, provided he hires some competent recruiting muscle).

Not trying to dance on the potential graveyards of current p12 coaches, but simply preparing their fans to the hard knocks of graduating from Steppingstone U. Trust me, this quack has been through some tough times at the U. So just wanted to offer my tutoring services should anyone want a quick study lesson and some Cliffs Notes (those still exist....lol??) from a duck.

Your guarunteres are as worthless as your opinions. Penix was not a Lake recruit nor was Polk or Johnson. We are striving to overcome the shortcomings of Lake's recruiting. We will be just fine next season and feeling good about going to Autzen. Tee I bet you are really happy to see Browning starting for Bengals. Remember creaming yourself about him being a gym teacher?

Don't feed the troll. LA is just desperate to convince himself that UW's coach is as good as gone, terrified that his litlle kingdom is being threatend. You can tell by the quotes: 'easily come to the conclusion' and earlier 'CLEARLY has wandering eyes'. I was reading some other article on some sports news site and one of the comments was 'KDB wants the NFL'. Funny how urban legends are born from anonymous idiots.

The rationale? Deboer hasn't called a press conference to announce he is not a candidate for any job. Why should he? Just because Lanning did to make it more about himself? Too funny that LA doesn't realize KDB is not wired that way. This probably doesn't apply to Lanning as it was early but when coaches 'announce' that they are not a candidate, more often than not, he was dropped from or never was in for consideration

I can't exactly remember the contex in an interview last spring, but it was along the lines of he would like to settle on one spot and KDB deadpanned and said 'I have moved my family 6 times in the past 12 years...'

Even though UW is not a blueblood/perennial top 10 type program, it has always been a very desirable opportunity. There is a reason that only two coaches in UW's HISTORY has a coach left for a better opportunity (aside from retiring or getting fired). Daryl Royal to Texas in the 50's and Sark to USC. Oregon since being purchased by NIKE?

I have been following the coaching 'Hot Board's at MSU and aTm as it is intertesting to follow who the potential hires are at two of the better programs. Sure KDB's name is there but realize the chances are low. MSU's Hot Board compiled by their 'experts' put as a probablity for KDB as N/A (along with Urban Meyer) and started the author's reasoning with the statement "First off, I don't think this a thing".

It will all be worked out soon enough.

BTW the last time a Dawg from the WW made a bet with LA Duck, he (odawg/Section 14) ended up having to wear an Oregon shirt to the UW-UO game at Autzen.

De Boner needs to advance while he is hot. They lose everyone this year. Plus he's coaching Lakes and Junior Adams recruits. Unless he's king of the portal , there will be a big drop off next year.

Plus he still has to beat the Ducks again this year to get to the playoffs .

Don't go down that route. Nobody knows who is going to do what in the years to come. I don't care about what Lanning will do but things are getting done on UW's end.
