Foolishness when they talk about giving larger shares to the top teams and they mention Alabama ( which based upon performance is deserved) and then mention Notre Dame in the same breath ( those folks are clueless IMHO to even mention ND)
The giant merger could be used to break the NCAA's back. Then suddenly there could be the reapearance of divisions, tiers or any number of approaches to handle the whole scheduling, travel, area fan bases etc.
It seems that is the best move going forward, the way college sports are today, there are many schools that just cant keep up (Cough, UCLA, Cough, Cough) and have no business being in high level athletics. Let those who embrace the NIL and the professionalization of college athletics go out and do it, while the others can play tiddlywinks on the intramural field.

top european football teams tried pushing this idea a few years ago and rightly failed. this will not be good for either the players or fans,
