Grinch just smashed the record for most yards given up per game by USC. 424 yards per game I read which crushed Goat Dad. Grinch is killing defensive recruiting via HS and the portal as Scot Schraeder was reporting. Saban wouldn't let a friendship get in the way of canning him. Riley better wake up or he is handcuffing his program.
ahh, but USC had a much worse offense, which meant they were trailing by large margins instead of trying to protect leads. The fourth quarters with Monte, the opposition was burning clock and calling off the dogs to do so. Monte's stats would have been far worse.
No. His Tampa 2 vs the zone read was DOA. At least Grinch had the sense to try to be aggressive, but you have to tackle the man, not the ball. Pretty stupid to not address this once the tos dried up, but he and Riley wanted to pretend they would go on forever and the opposition would never adjust. Not too bright.
The 2022 play that sums it all up for me is the go-ahead TD in the Utah game. Third and 19 near midfield. Short pass over the middle that should have gained 10-12 yards. Several defenders in position to make the tackle but no one tries to tackle the receiver. Instead, one guy tries to strip the ball, and in the process takes another defender out of the play. From there the entire D chases the receiver into the endzone.

Statistically, Monte was better.
