It's the same regression we saw in the Helton years. Could it be more than the coaching? Is it also a function of the University culture? We have made progress in diversity you know. Tammy Trojan rides the horse. Another Tina Trojan will be drum major next year. Female President. Female AD. No Toxic Trojan Masculinity. It comes from the top down - WEAK and WOKE.
One thing he's done is fire his buddy the DC. Second thing hes done is admit he was wrong on his approach on Defense and said recently that he learned a lot fron interviewing DC candidates and is changing entirely his approach on how to prepare a great defense....he wants bigger, stronger kids in the trenches for one thing...so I think he is doing a mea culpa tour .....
You literally have nothing? Open your eyes. It's obvious . Think about it for a second.
A second later:
He hired a DC to correct the teams biggest problem. A competent defense ( not even a great defense) and the season turns out different. We head to a conference with vanilla offenses that should be easier to defend.
This is what I have been posting. Lynn spent the spring learning how college football works. He spend the summer learning how to recruit. He spent the first half of the season learning how to call plays on defense. He didn't bring a single coach with him. Ucla didn't put up a fight to keep him.
Defense doesn't have to be complicated. sure wish SC hired someone that actually knew what he was doing. Maybe his daddy will help him. But he's kind of busy with the niners. sc
like what? gee, the defense was small and weak, and that was bad.
hmmmmmm, we need a bigger stronger defense, and that is good.
utla had a bigger stronger defense lets hire they guy that just showed up there even though he head little or nothing to do with them being bigger and stronger.
CLR for 10 million a year and starting the rebuild at year 3.
And as I have pointed out, a new DC fixes very few of these issues. LR is big on throwing out cheap phrases, a la Helton, but it remains to be seen if he actually has what it takes to implement them. I doubt he can do it. I suspect he will be gone a year from now. The correct path is too difficult for him.
You are correct. Dont forget, recruiting regressed. 7-5 with a Heisman QB is forgivable. But a complete regression in every aspect of the team is not. The program is in a death spiral.
He's one sexy bear of a man.

He is getting very comfy on the sidelines though, by midseason he will be coaching in white yoga pants and ugg boots.
