Where is a good place to buy a dirt bike motorcycle?

get some lessons, pay the piper

maybe join a club with regularly planned trips and make some new friends, they will have the best advice

buy used

buy electric start

buy Honda

or if you're THAT guy, buy KTM

you can make anything street legal with $$$$ if you want to be the one and only

there are many good makes for first bikes when buying used, where local service and support are the most important factors, other than price for a first dual purpose with a dirt/trail emphasis

should start with 250 or 300cc depending on year of bike (<2021, >2021)

plenty of power and lightweight

you'll eventually want a 450-460 or 500 or even 650 for the low end torque when trail riding

buy from closest local dealer for service and support

Mission Motorsports is good place to window shop if not buy

they will not have the lowest price

Not a biker, but Malcom Smith's motor sports in Riverside would be a good place imo. He and Steve McQueen made a biking documentary together quite a few years ago. Check it out.

That was pretty comical yesterday. The fact that those dudes were celebrated and that a mob of random people just got ran out and hopped on their bikes to join the parade with no fear of arrest and no problem putting all those around them in a fair amount of danger was just a perfect image of what Los Angeles has become. How many watching that were like "MF'er, that's MY dirtbike". The dude going like 90 on pavement with dirt tires on the quad was epic.

I’ve ridden a lot of bikes. Dirt and street. What is it that you want to do? Dirt only? Both?

Short distance? Long distance?

If you want both, then dual sport is your play. Now you need to figure out what type of riding? Day trips to over Crestline and fish at Silverwood?

Dry lake riding in high desert?

Desert riding west of Salton Sea?

Do you want to trailer in?

Do you want a long distance ride with multiple days of gear?
