Jayden Daniels
Bo Nix
Michael Penix
For me its the Winner of Friday nights game. Vs a 3 loss Lsu team who isnt even in their CCG.
If Bo wins on FR night alot of voters are gonna be pulling their hair out having to vote for him over Jayden Daniels. Unless Ducks win convincingly.
These are season stats through last week. So games on sat are not included.
I predicted Nix months ago. Best quarterback I saw this year. Tends to go to quarterbacks these days.
but NIX is really really really white. That can't help. White people are bad. Born evil. My youngest neice just told me she learned that in school. A private one. White people are the reason the world sucks. In fact if it weren't for white men, especially those that like girls, man would have reached utoptia and univeral nirvana decades ago. plus Nix sounds a lot like Nixon, and Nixon was the antichrist before Reagan, Bush X2 , and of course Trump were the antichrist. Now apparently the entire country of Israel are antichrists, even the headless babies. Ask your average undergrad to confirm.
So my guess is it goes to the LSU kid. I thought he sucked when he was at ASU. Harrison will probably have the best NFL career.
But what do I know. I posted CLR wasn't a great hire. I had no idea things would ever get helton-esque . I was told right on this board that defense doesn't matter anymore.
I also posted that going to the BIG as stupid. Still think so. Let's get on a redeye and play in the snow. What could possibly go wrong? SC has a couple of chicks running things now. everything should work out just fine. sc
Nix with 10 years of college experience wins in a landslide.
And Oregon beats Washington .
Does anybody really give a shit?
I've said this before -- the athletes who win the award are hardly ever overrated, but the award itself truly is. Seriously, who cares? Football is a team sport, and while the QB is certainly the most important position on offense, and probably the entire team, there are so many other moving parts that make a team operate. So, why is it that the Heisman winner is almost always a QB? And why do so many of them bust in the NFL?
It's because the award is bullshit. It's generated for the media to hype the bullshit and the jocksniffers to wax poetic about the bullshit award to the nacho eaters.
You people said it yourself -- Gary Beban shouldn't have won the award the year he did, if at all -- it should have gone to O.J. Okay, if you stand by that, it proves the award is bullshit. And think of all the other dickheads who won the award over more deserving players. Or the winners who didn't do shit in the NFL because they were system guys in college, which isn't really indicative of QB talent, overall.
They don't give the award for changing diapers, so the athletes are always good players. But the award is stupid. If this were tennis, it would be a big deal. Or wrestling. But football is the only team game that's worth a shit, where one guy can't do much of anything by himself. If they always give it to a QB, just rename it the Davey O'Brien Award and be done with the fucker.
Has Nix announced if he is coming back for his 9th year?
if Ducks beat UW , it's PAC Champs and Heisman and playoffs. ( hopefully RB).
A loss and it's a failed season. It would mean two losses to UW, Lanning another loss to Deboer, No Heisman for Nix. And a meaningless bowl vs Tulane.
Daniels has the craziest stats. But stats don't (or at least shouldn't) win a Heisman alone. Where were those stats in LSU's 14 point and 21 point losses this year? Not good enough to even just keep it close.
And Penix has not been the same since Oregon's game vs UW on 10/14. If he does have an amazing game on Friday, and UW wins, he should probably get it. Could happen, but not holding my breath.
Nix is not flashy, just effective.
The Heisman is given to the most outstanding player in college football. "Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perserverance and hard work" according to the Downtown Athletic Club. Nix currently holds the best completion percentage of any QB in P5 (maybe even G5) history, hasn't had a bad game in 2023, and outplayed Penix in UO vs UW Round 1.
Can't take last year's performance into consideration, of course. But combined with that, plus being great with two different OCs in his 2 years at Oregon, plus his perserverance in getting pushed out of Auburn for not living up to his 5-star ranking, and reinventing himself at Oregon, it seems like he's got a fairly good resume.
Color me bonkers, but if Nix has a good game on Friday night, and beats UW, he gets my vote...... 😆
Daniels should get it but I agree, the winner of UW/UO will win the Heisman. LSU isn't playing for the SEC championship but their schedule has been far more difficult and if either of those two teams played LSU's slate, they'd have 3-4 losses minimum.
Marvin Harrison Jr.....plenty of good QB's out there in fact you might say a dime a dozen but Harrison Jr stands alone at WR....no one close...and he had his season with a terrible QB at the helm..
