Not saying I agree with all of it, but much of this article you read from me all year.
QB's should have both been used and packages developed for Maiava early. WR's were way overrated and Branch sucks. This guy likes Duce and I like Lane. We agree on Lemon.
Lincoln Riley’s lack of great players put USC football in trouble
He put more on the DB's than I would have. I think the QB play he nailed. It was adequate. Average. Sometimes good. USC has been and is used to far better and relies on more. The WR's were supposed to be the most electric, reliable deep and athletic in the country. By the end most of the time I felt they weren't even necessarily the best on the field. Not sure who the WR coach is, but I am not impressed
Because Riley is a fraud. It's really that simple.
Riley didn't adequately utilize his running game. Plain and simple. If he had, QB performance would have been significantly improved, which would have made more productive time of possession, and it would have kept the defense off the field more often. All of this would have translated into more victories.
Who is the WR who scored 2 or 3 TD's against the french? That's who I like.
Good points. But, he failed because for the last 2 years he and staff recruited like sheet. The roster lacked depth and short top talent. Add, the team do not play physical FB and not in tip top condition. His FB teams will always be soft and that's on him. Most of all cause C. LR is a Bad Coach!!
This guy makes alot of sense here. Calling it straight.
Being in the B10 amplified these shortcomings. In the old Pac 12, CLR would have won 10 games and hid it all
But losing Bear Eric G and Anthony Lucas was a disaster.
WRs in general vastly underperformed. That was a major reason for the Offensive letdown.
I don’t mind the D…23ppg in today’s game is solid!
