In CFB the QBs influence on the outcome is 50/100, the rest of the offense 10/100, defense/st 40/100. Bama was unbeatable because they had a 50 at QB with Young and were easily in th 95 range as a team.
With no Bryce, the QB is about 30. They are still good at 75 but not as good as Tennessee that has a 45 at QB and 82 as a team.
The oddsmakers must believe that Young is going to play this week to have Bama favored by 8.
The key for SEC teams is to get AA-level QBs. When they have one they win a Natty or come in 2nd. That’s why Tennessee is dangerous if their QB is the real deal. They have defense and the other skill positions covered - no problem.
It’s time for the Bama and SEC thing to go away ... the new Big 10 and SC may do it
