Lou holtz Last game was one of my faves. Hated that human leprechaun. Don’t remember why nd chose not to go to a bowl that year but felt usc had something to do with it and yahoo for that. More than anytjing ending that god awful streak in overtime was the joy. Game has been long forgotten now because in the scheme of things on meant nothing. That usc team sucked. The win saved jr job. for a year. 1996 I think. But it might have been usc‘s first ot win I think the rule went into effect that years and they’d lost a couple already. I’d never seen a usc win versus nd as an alumnus or student. Took forever

51-0 Was my first USC ND game in person. Good thing was McKay made ND pay for that more than a few times over. And remember when the kind of hypocrites Notre Dane and Ara made USC players sit in the freezing cold for 20 minutes before Notre Dame came onto the field. Just another reason to hate those hypocrites. The next time we went to Notre Dame Mckay told one of his assistent coaches to tell him when Notre Dame entered the field. He wasn’t sending his team til Notre Dame was on the field. Refs came and told McKay if usc didnt go on the field USC would forfeit. McKay told them then forfiet the game and by the tv won’t be happy. Guess what. Notre dame went in the field before us. As I recall we won the game, god I hate those bastards

UCLA came out in fancy new unis with white helmets. Haven't worn them since.
