USC has two Coordinators, both high profile guys. Both highly thought of. Both highly paid. Both white. Williams is an assistant coach only. And he's Black. Did USC hire him because he's black and are they playing the race card?

Irrelevant and negative.
Who cares at this point.
USC hasn't had and doesn't have issues relating to race.
He's really more "Tan" than "Black"
Like ucla‘s AA AD?????
Preach ChooChoo.
I doubt he was hired because he's black. He was probably hired because he's a very good recruiter and position coach and the kids respect him, they respond to him.
BUT...
...I guarantee you if the team does really well the rest of the season -- which is a REAL possibility -- to the tune of finishing with a 10-2 or 9-3 regular season, and the team looks sharp in doing so, it's going to be VERY difficult to NOT hire him as the next HC. And that definitely will be because he's black (in addition to perhaps being a good HC candidate at that point, of course).
Think about it. USC fires Gomer and then the team goes a tear, makes it into the PAC 12 title game, maybe even wins it, goes to the Rose Bowl. How do you NOT hire a black coach for doing that? The black community would have a collective shit hemorrhage if that were to happen. And guess what? They'd have a point.
You should all hope Williams sucks as a HC and the team tanks.
Okay, that last sentence was a joke, but the rest of my post isn't.
Yes and no
don't care. never have, never will . sc
No. SC wants to keep recruits.
Of course he was hired because he's black. I told you guys months ago you would get an SJW hire like this.
Actually Donte had the title of Associate Head Coach over both coordinators. He got that promotion end of 2020. It is clear Bohn is telling Donte that he is the one guy who is safe on the staff. Because he is the guy leading recruiting and the guy that can help the new coach. neither Harrell nor Orlando have HC experience either.. Bohn made the logical move. I’m not sure Harrell or Orlando are highly thought of, Harrell’s star May be fading
