He’s a track star in cleats.
Makes bad decisions on whether to field kicks. Doesn’t judge where ball is going well.
Is very fast but fakes no one out. No moves. See that Bama wr? Those are moves.
Poor hands
Poor routes.
Does not or can not fight for 50-50 balls due to size hands height or efdort
Really gives an effort blocking but he’s 165 lbs and there only so much you can do with that.
Bonus: Moss has thrown two int this year. Both of them branch was the target.
Let’s see if I’m unique in this take a hater or spot on. I’ll put on my flak jacket now
USC had quiet a few Wr's with speed, quickness and explosive burst. These players were the best. I will rank them as how I saw them.
RJ Soward and Marquise Lee are 1A and 1B
Robert Woods
Lynn Swann
Adoree Jackson
Keyshawn Johnson
Nelson Aghlor
Armon St. Brown
Damien Williams
He was an All-American as a Freshman......primarily for returning kicks. He is 19 years old. He will be fine. You can't coach burning speed. You can learn the rest.
Branch is very good in open, long field routes and yds gain after the catch. But, when it gets into the Red Zone, not so much. He's limited on instincts, leaping ability and over the shoulder type catch. Most of the RZ passing TD's have come from Lane, McRee, Duce & Hudson.
Hopefully, Branch continue working on his Wr craft...
you're not wrong. riley needs to quit forcing the ball to branch.
Surprised I didn’t get more blowback on this one
R Jay Soward without the ebonics or silver teeth
Moss needs to recognize throwing50/50 balls to him are more like 20/80 balls. Disagree with poor hands , when he gets his hands on the ball he is solid and no matter how they rip at the ball he keep possession.
So far ZB has underachieved as a 5* ranked player. Shoot we got excited after his early 2 to 3 games as a freshman (had TD KO, PR TD and picked up huge yds after the catch). Then, he got quiet. If I had to rate him today, I would rate him a 4* player.
He did well in the Michigan game; he was Moss favorite target. He scares the opposing DC due to his 10.3 100 m speed. Like Java said, ZB runs lazy routes, he must concentrate catching passes vs thinking of a TD. One too many drops…
He should move down the depth charts. I liked your idea of speed back. sc
This is actually a very smart take. Hate to admit it (about ZB).
ZB really seems to be a great kid from a great family but he’s reminding me more and more super Mario 2.0….Who is the worst five star rates WRer I have ever seen
