Those metrics were destroyed long ago.

Red southern states have less debt per citizen.

The most fiscally responsible states are red states.

My son has a starting salary of $75,000 in Boston. Pretty good eh?

those are the most highly taxed jurisdictions in the US after adjusting for local [state and city] income, sales, and property taxes

in Conneticut you would be left with about $56.5k and in NY [not NYC which has it's own income tax] about $55.5k

net before accounting for the cost of living

NY is the most expensive state not called Hawai'i

Conneticut is almost as bad

now here is a real treat

if you live in CT and work in NYC, you pay CT property taxes which are higher than NY

but you pay income tax to NY, since NY and CT don't have reciprocity

strangely enough, the states you listed are also the biggest facilitators of fixed elections
