The answer I was looking first: Just import more eggs. Seemed obvious to me. If only eggs were the only problem. Everything has gotten more expensive since the Covid.
I get the feeling we were protecting egg farmers from imports. No more. Wonder which country will supply the eggs? (Mexico)
The part I don’t like: we will pay relief to US egg farmers, sounds socialist. Let the market rule without government interference.
Interesting side note for those that stay at home and don’t travel much. Eggs and milk are not refrigerated in other countries. Threw me for a loop in Mexico and Europe, couldn’t find the milk. Turns out they put milk in carton containers and keep it in the un refrigerated aisle. Turns out we are the only ones paranoid about salmonella. Btw, I consumed the milk and didn’t die.
No washing: Eggs are not extensively washed, preserving the protective cuticle.
Vaccination: Chickens are often vaccinated against salmonella.
Room temperature storage: Eggs are typically stored at room temperature in supermarkets.
“The nation will look to import between 70 million and 100 million eggs during the next month or two, the US Department of Agriculture said Wednesday as it announced a five-part plan to address bird flu. The Trump administration’s strategy also involves helping farmers protect birds from catching the virus and quickly rebuilding populations after chickens are killed or culled.

why not talk about how many poultry food processing plants burned down while the Biden administration looked on...you might wonder is there a government plan to create a food shortage...afterall this bird flu shet apparently didn't hit Mexico..or did it but they didn't kill the chickens
