Pence wasn't going to do that. the "Insurrection" as they call it happened which gave them the cover to proceed with no protests. Nancy "the drunk" Pelosi (and her drunk driving husband) are at the top of the corruption in DC along with Schumer, Steny Hoyer, Adam Schifty Schiff, Jerrold "I sharted" Nadler and the rest of the corrupt DC Democrats.
