He was solid, but his ideas fizzled. He wanted the diaspora of persecuted blacks to return home to build a free democratic Africa. He knew the depth of anti-black feelings and coloniall oppression by the British and French impacting about 400 million black people. He knew first hand the nastiness of the treatment of blacks here.
I'm guessing you think that would solve problems somehow, but you forget that these people still exist.
