We were trying to get from 4 corners to Flagstaff and there was a closure, so we were rerouted down to HWY 40 through the middle of the reservation near Canyon De Chelly, never seen such desolate beauty and such gut-wrenching poverty so close to one another. It was called "many farms" but there were none to be found. I was very humbled after that drive, changed the way I look at things. I guess these are just the people Kevin and his fellow comrades want in the back of a trash truck.
