We subsidze beet sugars and corn syrup in food. It makes it cheaper and we are consumers (quantity over quality). I experimented once with pasta sauce of all things for my kids. They cleaned their plates with Prego sauce and when i served them rao’s they only ate half. Said the rao’s was tasty, but they were full. The difference? Prego had something like 5x the amount of sugar, because that’s cheaper than tomatoes. Rao’s is about double the cost. We (meaning the US) really got ourselves into a f’ed up cycle of nutrition
one of life's biggest challenges is finding food products unadulterated by high fructose corn syrup or soy derivatives
did you ever notice behavioral differences in your kids when you steered them away from carbs, but specifically high fructose corn syrup towards high fat, high protein choices that include complex carbs as found in whole fruit and vegetables?
you know like offering them a yogurt or bacon and eggs instead of a bagel and OJ for breakfast?
ha, ha
democracy dies at breakfast
