Subtract one, my wife accidently turned it on for 2 seconds before I ripped the remote from her hands and send her to bed early for the screw up.
One could try to argue that 2021 was covid and fewer movies, fewer hype, fewer ad money, no major blockbusters etc etc etc. But that doesn't explain 2020 and 2018. Overall trend is down wit 2019 looking like the outlier.
If I want to be preached to I will sit in a pew at the church of my choice. It won't be via tv, especially not by wealthy people with zero skin in the game. Whether it be actors or televangelists.
I am surprised they still refer to it as ab "Oscar", seems rather sexist and patriarchal if one were to go by what these wokestars say.
