Republicans are nuts to try this before the election

It appears they want to lose. They are proposing the way to save Social Security is to extend the age that it can be collected and to reduce benefits to those younger than those preparing to retire. The Demorats countered that proposal by wanting to increase to $400k as the limit to where you stop paying.

Neither proposal sounds all that good but the Dem's will win more votes with their approach than the Republicans will with theirs IMHO and I would lean on the Dems proposal before the approach that the Republicans are taking. To announce that in an election year is pure misjudgment or stupidity..
