We human beings are many things, but consistent, we are not.
We Americans kicked off 1973 with a landmark decision, effectively legalizing abortion across the US. And then that same year, we Americans closed off 1973 passing the Endangered Species Act.

Basically, simply disturbing an unhatched sea turtle egg is subject to fine or imprisonment.
Not many people know this, but American writer Joseph Campbell was credited by George Lucas in inspiring the creation of Star Wars. One of Campbell's quotes has really resonated with me "The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning"
If there is no God and the Big Bang is all one big random event, then Campbell is right -- the meaning of life is in itself, the ability to live. So George Carlin is right. We as humans are not a consistent bunch. We as a species protect the unborn sea turtles, bald eagles and condors, while we are okay killing an unborn human. SMH.
The predominance of human biological research confirms that human life begins at conception—fertilization. At fertilization, the human being emerges as a whole, genetically distinct, individuated zygotic living human organism, a member of the species Homo sapiens, needing only the proper environment in order to grow and develop. The difference between the individual in its adult stage and in its zygotic stage is one of form, not nature. This statement focuses on the scientific evidence of when an individual human life begins.
He was talking a lot about consistency....

George Carlin should not be anyone's moral compass.
Bill Burr has thoughts on it too.
This sucks.
