The USA needs to reestablish a foundation. Every other superpower in the world uses tariffs. The USA has been the oddball. In China, 97% of cars sold are made in China. Long-term, manufacturing capability should be the number one goal for the USA. There will be a period of higher prices but this will be more than offset by increasing the labor market, non-reliance on China for everything, high quality products, and eventually cheaper prices. Foregoing manufacturing capacity for cheap prices is short-term thinking, which will come at a huge cost in the future. The USA is an underdog but thank God we have Elon Musk and other great minds on our side. The USA can do this.
