What exactly does Stolen Valor mean?

did anyone that posts here that actually served in combat know? How can someone steal valor? Is it something in one of Kackles's floating clouds? How does that work?

does it mean the FAT slob rat vp candidate stole someone's purple heart or some other medal? Maybe he stepped on a pop top while packing to go off to war and had to quit? Doesn't mean he didn't want to go. Can't figure it out. But man does that sound like it hurt. OUCH!

I finally figured out what Trump Derangement Syndrome is. It means being so blinded by hate that those afflicted can't think clearly or rationally. But Stolen Valor? That one's quite the puzzle, a riddle wrapped in an enigma. Maybe someone's dad or grandpa knows?

hang out with some Marines

tell them you won a Silver Star during a tough battle in the Helmand Province

and you were the only survivor of a forward deployed Recon element

after you try to answer their questions as best you can

they will explain the whole concept of stolen valor to you in explicit detail

Either lying about, or exaggerating, military status or action in a conflict. I believe it's broader than someone actually physically stealing a military issued item.

To me, stolen valor is exaggerating status or rank for gain. It could be for a military discount, to advance in business or politics, whatever. Playing dress-up because you like the look is borderline, but if it is not done for gain (which, lets face it, why would you do it if it wasn't) I could go either way. There is a big difference between wearing a generic, surplus type uniform shirt and wearing one that has insignia.

The term was coined when Richard Blumenthal, running for the Senate, claimed he fought in Viet Nam, when he didn't, and may not have even been in the military. "Phony Valor" may have been more apt.

Walz is a total pussy. "SINO"- Soldier in Name Only.......when you teach school....joining the Army Reserves give you a 2nd income.....and allows you to march in uniform at 4th of July Parade. Walz NEVER served abroad.....and resigned (losing his rank....which he lies about today) when he was scheduled to be deployed to Iraq.

More than that in an interview he claimed to have served in Iraq and he didn't. Claimed to have retired and he quit. Claimed to have retired at a rank which he never earned and upon discharge was down graded to a lower rank on his discharge papers. Beyond that guy as Governor approved riots and burning down of his cities. Had a DUI while driving 96MPH in a 45 zone while blowing .125 over the legal limit of .08.....forget he's a tried and true Socialist that is further left than Bernie...

Of course I get that. Again this whole thing started with the rank thing. It only came out later that fatty vp wannabe LIED about serving in a war zone. To me rank means squat. I know it's political and a dentist will outrank and grunt. I have a hell of a lot more respect for a private with a purple heart than I do with anyone that sat well in the rear with the gear.
