From a library book:
“A person may exchange sex or sexual activity for things they need or want, such as food, housing, hormones, drugs, gifts, or other resources,” reads one shocking passage in the book.
Prostitution is “a job like being a store clerk, an architect, or a freelance writer. We all, unfortunately, have to do work to make a living. Some of us hate our jobs and some of us love them–the same goes for those who do sex work. Sadly, sex work is generally misunderstood,” the book states.
The Librarian defends the book:
“She started talking about how there’s kids who come to the library who do sex work, and this makes them feel validated,” the teacher told police. “As a teacher, if you get an individual student coming to you because you’re abused, you have to go the police immediately.” “I said, ‘This is like a textbook for how to do this, including selling your body for hormone replacement therapy,’” the teacher said. “She said, ‘There’s no pornography in it so it doesn’t matter.’”
You couldn't imagine a middle school doing this? What's the over and under for how many years until this school's counseling office has a Madam to help students find tricks and get a larger share of the profits. Since, "Prostitution is a job like being a store clerk, an architect, or a freelance writer," will their Job Fair have a table next to Target that says, "Hookers R Us"? "Just like being a store clerk, but with more flexible hours!"
